PaintBall Camo Kit

Here is the scenario - you just spent somewhere between 50 and 100 hours putting together an effective camo outfit. You get into the field and soon your body temperature is hitting 120 degrees, the meshwork is giving up and the parts of your gear still exposed are easy for the enemy to spot...

Yes, an effective and lightweight camouflage outfit is a must for any paintballer, whether an occasional leisure time contender or the more serious paintball enthusiast. So what are the components in camouflage clothing that the paintballer should be looking for?

1) Lightweight Materials.

A Ghillie suit made of lightweight or ultra-light weight materials should be a top priority. The best quality Ghillies weigh in at just 3.5lbs (jacket) and 1.5lbs (Pants), at the same time they are made of strong materials which give the paintballer the protection required without weighing them down.

2) Fire Retardant

Fire is a serious hazzard for anyone wearing a Ghillie suit and should be taken seriously. The best camouflage Ghillies come with fire retardant materials and extra fire-retardants too.

3) Machine Washable Materials.

The last thing any paintballer wants to do is ship their Ghillie to a specialised cleaner every time they take a hit... cheaper Ghillie suits may not be made of machine washable material - make sure you purchase one that is!

4) Quality Netting

Many different terrains and seasonal changes in vegetation mean that you'll be swapping your camouflage several times over. Make sure that your Ghillie has robust netting that can stand those changes

5) Covers Your Gear

A regular camouflage jacket will not always cover your other paintballing gear. Make sure your Ghillie is designed to do so. After all there is no point only being 90% hidden. Accessories to look out for include additional camouflage protection for your marker's tank and loader and a veil to cover your mask.
